Book designer Michel Vrana writes a compelling article about Wired's latest iPad App reader. It's nice to know that there are platforms being developed for such devices that actually hint at the potential of a universal standard for how such devices can effectively display content while still remaining attractive visually and not taking away from what we are used to as conditioned consumers of print.

The Word
Design is the method of putting form and content together. Design, just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it's so complicated.
Being a famous designer is like being a famous electrician.
The real issue is not talent as an independent element, but talent in relationship to will, desire, and persistence. Talent without these things vanishes and even modest talent with those characteristics grows.
