Lord knows I've procrastinated returning library books, but 45 years...? Wow!
My two favorite parts of this story: that the "borrower" bothered to return the book at all, and that he or she did so anonymously. I picture a sweet old man, dentures quivering, wondering if he'll be forced to pay the £6 fine should he return the book.
